1. Pick items that sell locally
Anything bulky (furniture, appliances, prams), anything urgent (Christmas trees, garden shears), and anything that benefits from an in-person check (bikes, cars, phones). Skip small items that ship easily — they sell faster on shipping-first platforms.
2. Set a clear area
On Lemown you set a town or neighbourhood. That single field filters out anyone who's too far to reasonably collect — which is exactly what you want. Post on Marketplace for household items, or Services for skills.
3. Write listings for local buyers
Mention nearby landmarks ("just off the N7 near Naas") and pick-up flexibility ("evenings and weekends fine"). Local buyers reward local context.
4. Meetups
Arrange for daylight hours, at your door for large items, or a public place for smaller ones. Have someone with you for high-value items.
5. Payment on collection
Cash or same-room bank transfer (with a confirmation screenshot) works well. Lemown never handles the payment — the money flows directly between you and the buyer.
